Edwin Fischer: Concerts with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra
This release presents everything that survives from Edwin Fischer’s concerts as soloist and conductor with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra in 1945 and 1948. Previous issues of this material had only restricted sound quality, but we have used excellent new restorations kindly provided by Legendary Archives, for which we are very grateful. The recordings give us live versions of five works which Fischer recorded commercially and three which he did not. All of them add significantly to his recorded legacy.
